Ocean sunset painting time lapse video

ocean sunset painting timelapse

Here is the video of me creating the palm tree ocean sunset painting sped up for your viewing pleasure. This painting took just over two and half hours to complete but you can watch the whole thing come together in 5 minutes. As you can see in the video i broke up the composition into thirds and focused on just the sky and the ocean first. Adding the palm trees on top of the background helps create the illusion of depth. Look, I can paint upside down, sideways, and just about anyway I need to to gain a new perspective.

This is the most recent acrylic painting I have done, I love Ocean sunsets, don’t you? Oh and the palm trees, I decided that I wanted to paint more of what I want to see and show up in my life! The palm trees leaning over growing closer to each other as the years go by, The amazing contrast of colors in the sky at dusk. I can imagine hearing the waves crashing against the shore line, and it still is warm out even though the sun is setting. I am at peace. This canvas was hand made by my husband, it measures 20 by 24 inches.

Mother’s Day Little Girl Portrait Paintings

mother's day paintings

These three paintings were commissioned by a gentlemen that contacted me about creating artwork for his wife as a Mother’s day surprise. He requested each piece to be done in different styles. I painted the infant baby portrait in oil and used linseed oil to smooth out the texture. The toddler painting of his daughter was drawn in colored pencil and then I applied mineral spirits to blend the colored pencil together and used a little acrylic paint selectively to add a little dimension. The third portrait painting of his young daughter in a field of tulips was brightly painted with acrylic paint. I absolutely loved painting these three portraits and it was awesome being part of the reveal of my client surprising his wife early for Mother’s Day this past Saturday. Their beautiful daughter, Blakely was a blessing to paint; she has so much character and was a joy to capture in these art pieces.

Here are some comments I received from Blakely’s parents:

“…I really appreciate working with you. You are very talented and easy to work with.”
and
“Hi Ivy, Thanks again for the paintings. They truly are amazing and we love them.”

My Little Baby Girl – Painting

Painting of a baby girl by Ivy Bath

I recently finished a painting of Lily when she was a newborn. This painting is a 16×20 acrylic on stretched canvas. I typically have done a lot of animal paintings and wanted to get back into creating portraits. When I was younger I did a lot of drawings of people and only a few paintings. Now that I’m more developed as an artist I wanted to see what it would be like now. Every painting is a new beginning.

Commissioned Meditation Painting

Meditation-Painting

I was commissioned to paint this meditation piece for Jennifer Monk, and it was so much fun to paint! Levi helped me plan it out in Photoshop and I was so excited it took me only a week and a half to paint; I had such great energy painting it. Love you Jennifer, thank you so much for all that you do and all that you are.

Mr. Froggy Face is a Rainbow of Love!

painting of a red eye tree frog by Ivy Bath

Oh, I fell in love with a frog and he is a rainbow in my heart. Who will take him home and be showered in rainbows of this love? Every time you look at this painting you will be blessed with the abundance of love. Mr. Froggy face was my pick to represent the rainforest idea that was previously voted on in a Facebook poll.

The canvas dimensions are 16 by 20 inches. We are currently making a custom frame that will compliment this painting, and will update as soon as it is complete.

Big Big Update

Big big update! First off I want to let you know that I am so excited to be successfully selling prints, the Kung Fu animal set has been pretty popular, we have sold a few orders and have a few more on their way. I am so grateful for being able to have multiple people buying these and in the process I have even got to recieve prints of these to have in my home and I am feeling so blessed!
In the meantime, I have created a couple new original pieces and they are now available to view and purchase. Which reminds me we also are adding in some pieces that were done some time ago, and will keep looking through the house and will update as we can! New Categories have been added to the Portfolio and Shop: Paintings, Murals, Drawings, Pastels, and Mixed Media. Now you really have some different mediums to browse from. We went ahead and put in Art Prints FAQ describing the differences between the three Print options so now its easier to make a decision on which type of print to order. Last but not least, be sure to check out my fancy new business cards designed by my wonderful husband. (Feel free let us know if you need new business cards designed 🙂 )
